Happy 3rd Birthday Zoe!

Zoe turned 3 and ordered up a pink princess cake so that's what she got! Zoe was lucky enough to get a bunch of gifts, including princess dresses! Each time she opened a new one, she stripped to put it on. No modesty here, folks! And here's our family - all happy and full of cake!

Princesses Everywhere

I'm not sure who was more excited on Zoe's birthday weekend - Zoe because she was going to see the princesses or Papa because he was going to bring his grandchildren to Disney.

Now Zoe had been to Disney before when she was 6 months old, but this was the first time that she actually knew what was going on. Her excitement was made greater with the knowledge that Papa knew the princesses and told them that Zoe was coming to visit. You'd think she'd won the lottery.

Here are some pictures of our exciting Disney adventure:

I am so using this when you are in high school

Every child goes through a phase in which their parents embarrass them. Max and Zoe, I promise I won't do this on purpose. However, I will pull out this video and let you embarrass yourselves. Ha!

That's right - Zoe is "shaking her booty"! You can thank your father for this life lesson!

Goodnight noises everywhere

Just like his sis, Max loves his nightly reading of Goodnight Moon. I have to admit, Mommy likes this nightly ritual too.

Dare you to smile!

Max CRACKS me up! But not as much as Max cracks up when his Daddy gets him going. Seriously, Everett can get this boy is laugh - big belly laughs where his whole face lights up and you can tell he's thinking, "This is the funniest guy I have ever seen in my life!"

In addition to the laughing, Max is a kicker. His legs are always going! Don't believe me? Check out this video:

Gather the colony

My university has a great library that is co-owned by Nova Southeastern University and Broward County. As such, they have a wonderful kids' section. Every week I go to the library and get out books for Zoe. She gives me a request ("Mommy, can you get me a monster book, please?") and I try my best to fulfill it. This is awesome because we're really missing the steady stream of books that we used to get in Nashville via the Imagination Library program.

When I don't have a specific request, I just try to pick books that I think sound interesting, and I've found a few really good ones. One in particular is The Naked Mole Rat Gets Dressed by Mo Willems. Zoe really took a liking to this one too. It's about a naked mole rat who likes to get dressed (surprisingly enough) and all other naked mole rats make fun of him. They decide to ask the grandpa naked mole rat what he thinks and he tells them to "Gather the colony! I will make a proclamation (about what he thinks about the whole getting dressed idea)!" It's cute, but what's even cuter is Zoe making a proclamation!

(Please pardon the appearance of our bedroom. We're still unpacking.)
