Everett and I went to Costa Rica for 5 nights. We saw an active, erupting volcano and many different animals including a three toed sloth, tarantulas, coatis, and monkeys, went zip lining twice through the rain forest, swam in hot springs fueled by the volcano, and ate so much arroz con pollo that I think we're set for quite a while!

Grandma and Papa B watched the kiddos while we were away and we are so thankful to them! As amazing as Costa Rica was though, we saw the most amazing thing when we came home.

Before we left, Max was kind of crawling. He had just learned to roll over in late June. To be honest, I was getting a little worried because I thought he should have been rolling over way before then. But I was happy that he started to roll over finally. Soon after, he began to "turtle" as I call it - he would get on his belly and flail his arms and legs out, but not really go anywhere. That's pretty much where he was when we left. When we came back, he was just on the cusp of crawling; a few more days and we would have missed it!

Well the week we got back, he not only was crawling all over the place, but I saw him pull himself up! Now, he is more up than down! He's cruising along furniture and hates it when he's laying down or buckled up in his car seat - well this hatred isn't new, but he had gotten used to the car seat. He just wants to be standing at all times!

We caught this video early one morning. You can see Zoe "teaching" him. She's such a good big sister!
